Biden might be in to something when he talks about using nukes on citizens. I can think of several American cities that have gotten to the point where a nuclear explosion might be an improvement. (Note: This post is total sarcasm and is in no way an encouragement for a board member to nuke Chicago, New York, or Los Angeles.)
Well, one in Seattle took part of the city and tried to take over at least part of a major US city with a strategic waterway. They also damaged US property such as a federal building, courthouses, and post offices. Those are just some examples. The cost of the riots after the Floyd incident were fare more costly than Jan 6.
I am guessing if Trump sent in the military to take back that city you would have been against it. Libs were made because he sent in federal law enforcement.
First off, no one said they had to be effective to be insurrectionists. Trying to rob a bank is still a crime, even if you get no money. An unsuccessful coup is still a coup attempt, even if the colonels leading it get their heads lopped off.
Second, creating a Constitutional crisis is a MUCH better idea than starting a shooting war against the government.
Biden is wrong about one thing; the idea isn't so much to take over the government by shooting war if it turns tyrannical. The idea is to make such a prospect appear painful enough that it isn't worth taking a tyrannical turn.

I believe it was some people went to DC. Some with good intentions for the first day or so. They did their thing peacefully and left. I think some others got festered up and riled up, like hell raisers at a football game or concert or some other events. Got riled up and frankly they were basically let in the capital. There wasn't a ton of security for the place that had from the #2 man on down in the USA. The security sucked. The people were riled up and pushing and so on.
I don't think there was any command or control. Or planning. Or let's do this and here is a plan of attack or anything like that. Like flank them here and when we take it over, let's do this and then do that. Dudes hanging from the chairs in the balcony were moment drunk or raising hell.
