Don't Quite Get the Star Wars Fascination

I've never quite understood the fascination adults have with Star Wars movies or the hoopla surrounding them. To each their own, I still spend money on things that other's can't comprehend so this isn't meant as a personal attack on those that get excited about May 4th, but I truly don't get it.

Including Rogue, there have been nine movies so far. I, II, III were absolutely terrible. Rogue was surprisingly good. IV & V were okay but Hammil's acting is atrocious. VI was sub-par. VII was just an apology for I, II, & III being unwatchable. VIII, minus two scenes, was unwatchable & completely unnecessary. Apparently IX will ignore/retcon quite a bit of VIII because it was just terrible.

I also realize I've seen them all & that saying I don't get it makes no sense. I get the irony. Rogue I saw in the theater, the rest I've caught here & there on Netflix or whatever streaming services. So out of nine released movies, one was actually pretty good, two were okay, one was meh, four were terrible, & one was an apology.

I don't get it at all, but my wife is a fan, so I usually have to tag along to the theater. It makes for a nice two and a half hour nap.

Rogue One, IV, and V are great movies on their own merits.
Solo is better than people give it credit for, which is because it came out too soon after the abomination of VIII.
VI and VII are good, but are well thought of because of how awful I, II, III are. #MayTheFourthBeWithYou

Star Wars hasn't been the same since Disney took over. The Dark Side®™ characters in these movies used to be far more dark and ominous.

V is considered by many to be a Top Ten film of all time. It truly stands on its own against anything on film.

Billy D Williams romantically involved with a robot is blasphemy.
