Looks like it’s back to normal. 31% shooting, 11 turnovers and an 11 point deficit at the half.
Typical first half performance. Nobody within 15 ft. of rim to get offensive rebound. Keep chucking those 3s. They're bound to go in sooner or later
The frustrating thing for me watching this team is the fact that they don’t do the basic fundamentals. They are really poor fundamentally. They don’t block out at all, if there is someone contesting a rebound from the other team the other team gets it.
We throw several lazy passes. We never follow our shots. We don’t do help defense. Our big men play very little defense. They are also very weak. I mean guys 4 to 5 inches shorter than our big men take the ball to the hoop against them with no fear.
Lastly our foul shooting is awful. It’s painful. Missing front ends of one on ones. If we improved our basic fundamentals I actually think we could have a good team.

Turning point was when we didn't get to count Taylor's 3 and then the refs screwed up on IB's foul shots (even though he missed the first one and they gave him the second one later which he also missed). If shot together maybe he makes the second one and we employ different strategy.
I know this post may not be popular amongst the 304 crew, but I'm thinking, after that performance, SamC should maybe get a $200.00 rebate.

GHMY - I deserve the slam. Every time I see hope I’m Charlie Brown believing Lucy when she says she won’t pull the football away at the last second. Then, as I am going backwards getting ready to fall on my ass I realize she got me again! Still love’em, as already stated hard to watch....
I still contend that there is too much emphasis on the 3 point shot. A made 2 pointer is better than several missed 3 pointers. Take one step in and the percentage of shots made goes way up. Also, I would like to see more give and go action. The number of assists in a game can tell us if we are looking for teammates moving towards the basket. This is not a very good perimeter shooting team, so we need to use the inside game more than last year. When I see Kinsey, Taylor, and West with most of the points, I know that there was not enough inside action. Still rooting for Danny to turn this team into a more competitive group, but time is slipping away.
ekal - agree 100%. We should not be taking more than 15 3’s per game. Force it inside or drive to the basket. If that fails at least we tried achieving the post offense we are supposed to be switching to....

Nope, I post consistently, mostly trying to get my fellow Herd fans to sound like Herd fans. We are Marshall. We are better than running an continuous echo chamber where ignorant statements are just repeated back and fourth at one another. Look at some of the stuff in the FIU thread. Or look at this thread and most of our loss threads. Just empty statements about “turning corners” and “learning” and whatever. We used to be better fans than that.
Reality is that this is a bad team playing other bad teams in a bad league. We have a puncher’s chance in any game we play, especially if we end up in the bottom “pod” in this idiotic pod system.
Whether someone thinks that this is a symptom of “youth” or just a symptom of being unskilled, is up to each individual. I tend to believe the latter, a very good friend of mine, also a great Herd fan, thinks the former. No one should be ridiculed for either belief.
