A friend of mine was on a flight from Huntington to Charlotte yesterday. 5 Herd players were on it also. They got back from the bowl game at 4am and apparently just stayed at the airport to catch the 11am flight home for Christmas. She sat next to Anthony Anderson on the flight. Anderson presented himself very gentlemanly, as did the other 4. It's good to know that Marshall's players not only perform on the field, but they also represent Marshall well when out in the public eye. Thanks guys. You made my Marshall friend's day.

The "good" part is very debatable. How exactly did the 5 players conduct themselves "very gentlemanly"?
Did they all make an announcement that they were volunteering to lift everyone's luggage into the overhead compartments? Did each of them give up both of their armrests for the people sitting next to them the entire flight? Did they all give shoulder massages all flight to the people sitting in front of them? Did they take their free pretzels and give them to the homeless guy sitting outside of the airport?
The entire premise of the thread is comically stupid. All five of these Marshall players acted "very gentlemanly" because the guy's friend was on the same plane as them? The five players didn't all sit next to each other. The person couldn't have watched all five of them all flight.
Did they board the plane without assaulting any women? Did they not run down the aisle screaming swear words? Maybe, if they were on their really best behavior, they said "Go Herd" after the friend said it first to them? Impressive.
There was nothing "good" about the post nor was it a "feel good" story.
A "feel good" story is the girl on the plane last year who helped the blind-mute communicate with the plane employees and who spent all flight socializing with the guy. A feel good story is not a person who observes four Marshall players walking onto a plane and claims they behaved "very gentlemanly" with absolutely no basis for that other than they didn't act like animals for the 12 seconds she was able to see them.
You are, undoubtedly, lower than a snake's belly to the ground. You have nothing good to say about anything, or anybody. You always find a way to twist something somebody has said into another one of your tirades and spew venom. It's no wonder you're out of coaching. With an attitude such as yours, I can see why no coach would want you on his staff. Coaches should be encouraging and uplifting, building confidence, and setting examples for those that play for them. You, sir, do not fulfill any of that.

Hey, I had a friend who saw five Marshall players at the bus stop taking a bus to their hometowns. She said they were acting like complete idiots: rude, loud, aggressive. But they really weren't doing anything rude, loud, or obnoxious. They were just acting like everybody else by getting on the bus and taking their seats.
Why do you care? You of all people should know that when one person takes the time to indicate to another person a favorable impression of a group of individuals representing an organization, they tend to generalize their comments. Chances are the young men were respectful of their fellow passengers in their behavior and if spoken to were polite in conversation. But we’ll never know. All that matters, and the point of the O.P. , is that time and again, there are examples of Marshall student athletes exhibiting positive qualities when they are in the public eye. Whether it is a toy drive, visiting sick children in the hospital, driving 8 hours to be with a gravely wounded teammate prior to his tragic passing, signing autographs, or interacting with Herd fans, Marshall’s kids “get it”. Respect for themselves, respect for their teammates and gratitude for the opportunity to attend school, play the sport they love and ultimately earn a college degree is something they carry with them for the rest of their lives.
So keep on denigrating your alma mater and the student athletes you seem to enjoy poking fun at (!) asshole. It only reflects poorly on you.
I was actually going to chime in and provide you with an uplifting story about YAGS, but now that you've insulted me, I've decided to go with this. YAGS and myself don't even come close to resembling one another. He's a well educated Northern Yankee, aka a Harvard type, while I'm simply a redneck from a WV holler. In other words, me and Sistersville should stand a better shot at getting confused over one another.
