Riding mowers...need opinions

I looked this up. Don't know the validity of the statement

-------

Toro makes Toro and Lawn Boy. MTD makes all of the store brands (i.e., a mower that might have the Home Depot name on it), along with MTD, Dynamark, YardPro, Weed Eater, Noma, and Sears Craftsman. Murray makes MTD. MTD makes the low end (non-commercial) John Deere tractors.

Sisters prefers to use a Kaiser blade for his lawn care needs....

some folks calls it a sling blade, he calls it a kaiser blade. It's got a long handle like a axe with a long blade on it that's shaped kinda like a bananer. Sharp on one edge, dull on the other. It's what the highway boys use to cut down weeds and whatnot.

It’s called a mowing sye.

As a bonus, for some strange reason, this image came up during my search.

Looks like MTD owns Cub Cadet so maybe that's where I got my wires crossed.

Crazy once you start doing the research how that there's not as many manufacturers of products out there as you think. Shows you how important branding is in selling products to certain types of folks.

I have an MTD "Yard Machine" with a little Briggs & Stratton I bought years ago from Home Depot. It's still in my garage to use as a backup whenever my primary needs repaired. It cuts great. They lack any features, but, for the money, it's a solid little mower.

Very few manufacturers anymore. Briggs now owns Snapper, simplicity, Ferris, and Murray.

This thread is confusing as hell. Just make your wife mow the lawn, while you go out and drink, play golf, boat, or just sit on the porch and watch her.

Robotic and remote control lawnmowers will be the wave of the future(really some are here now). You set up a grid of your yard in the app in your phone/tablet and put out the mower and let it do its thing. Like a modern day goat.
