Stadium TV on the air

The replacement for ASN, Stadium TV activated its website today. It is at www.watchstadium.com . The linear TV channel will "soft launch" with some minor sports starting tommorrow, and go full time September 6th. You can watch it on the website, or over the air at 11.2, or on channel 207 on the (free) Pluto TV, or on (free) Twitter TV. Extra content will be behind a paywall.

Unlike ASN, which just showed infomercials and rerun after rerun of the games it covered, Stadium TV will have actual content, including a SportsCenter type show, supposedly without the hip-hop and politics, a college highlight show, an NFL highlight show, and a talking head show (Seth Davis).

All sports deals with CUSA, Mountain West, Patriot League, and West Coast. Minor sports deals with ACC and Big 2, Little 8. Also has small piece of the PGA and NHL (live look in type deals, no games).

There's a spot running on ESPN radio right now where they are emphasizing that, starting this fall, they will show more highlights on SportsCenter, and that every NFL team will have its game highlights covered, no matter who the team is.

That's what I stopped watching ESPN programming - they stopped covering the basics of the primary national sports, and filled their schedule up with shout shows and over-dramatic, subject-controlled "documentaries" where you hear what a great/tragic human being some athlete is.

Can that shit. Show me the touchdowns and dingers.
