His sudden dismissal sure is weird. Especially given Russia's expected to make a push soon. Zelensky isn't given any reason for the unexpected dismissal.

Especially in light of the upcoming Ukrainian counteroffensive in the area, that is really strange. Looks like the Wagner Group is going to go through a big reshuffle really soon as well (with what's left of its ground forces in the Bahkmut area).

Given the other recent high profile cannings of numerous officials for corruption, a sudden termination with no explanation isn’t exactly assuring.

True, but thankfully Russian troops are also greatly suffering from logistical problems in large part due to skimming from their military spending as well. it looks pretty likely Ukraine will probably still launch another major offensive real soon.

The 20% Russia holds, compared to the rest of Ukraine, isn’t exactly trying to push Russia out. Much of it is territory that’s only been under nominal Ukrainian control anyway, and Russia has less invaded than subsumed existing resistance.

I don’t think we’ll see, ever, major Ukrainian gains in currently occupied territory.

It'll be coming with the Leopard 2 tanks. Pootin still has only captured about 20% of Ukraine nonetheless. Also, so much for the "Winter Is Coming" mantra that the West would freeze without Russian oil and gas.
Only captured 20% of the country in 12 months. ????? They have the parts they wanted the most.

Ukraine is not getting enough tanks to cover that much ground. It is hundreds and hundreds of miles.

Let's talk about losses on Ukraine's side and their moral. It is not like they are not taking losses. The war is basically a stalemate at this point.

But I thought it would be over in a month with Russia getting every thing they set out to achieve.
