Information on the new scoreboards?

Wondering if anyone has seen any blueprints or structural renderings of the scoreboard upgrades ?
Not sure on renderings, but it was noted in the HD that construction will be going on until Aug 30 ( expected completion date).

Driving by it seems that they're doing quite a bit. Not too familiar with construction of a scoreboard, but 4 months seems like a long time to be working towards completion?

Looks like they are well on their way to gaining a new Jumbotron .. making it harder to toss the ball into McDonald’s parking lot after scoring a TD

Always a good day when a drill rig shows up isn’t it?

You know it!

Yeah, I’ve seen that rendering. If they chose the size I’ve heard, the actual scoreboard screen would measure pylon to pylon. That’s why I’m interested in see how they’re building it. That would be so humongous. Lmao. I’ve not heard or seen how they’re doing the shewey board either.

It only makes sense to me to place the larger of the two boards on top of the shewey. So when you eat food and drink at the new area in the end zone you look cross field to it.

The HD article says the videoboard is 38x97 which is 3,686 sq ft. If those dimensions are correct they’re smaller than the initial renderings show which were 45x119.

Might be top 4 in the G5 but likely top 15-20 in all CFB.

From the article.

Once in place, the secondary board that has been attached to the Fred and Christine Shewey Building will be removed, athletic department officials said.

I’m sure it will be a fine video board.

That said, not sure where this 4th largest in the country is coming from?

Even that 119 x 45 ‘ wouldn’t be close to 4th. And apparently what we’re getting is smaller than that?

Again. Not a major concern. I just want to be able to read the stats when they show them now.

He did an interview with Paul Swann in mid-march where he went into detail of how we couldn't make the largest in the nation work, but we would fall in the 3-5 rank nationally when all is said and done.
