Central Florida vs. Marshall
The game: Bad Boy Mowers Gasparilla Bowl
Info: 2:30 p.m. ET, ESPN & ESPN App/Tampa, Florida

*Gabriel Davis, WR, Central Florida: Davis is a true junior who has caught 72 passes for 1,241 yards and 12 touchdowns this season. He's a smooth-and-savvy route runner with an NFL frame. He tracks the deep ball well and has the body control to adjust to throws slightly off target. He gave Stanford corner Paulson Adebo, who is the No. 3 corner on our board and a potential first-round pick, all he could handle earlier this year

*Brenden Knox, RB, Marshall: Knox is a redshirt sophomore who has rushed for 1,284 yards and 11 touchdowns this year. Listed at 6 feet and 220 pounds, he's a bruising runner with the balance and power to regularly pick up yards after first contact. He's patient letting his blockers get into position and has the lateral mobility to bounce between gaps. With two years of eligibility left and one year of notable production, it wouldn't be a surprise if he returns to show teams he can play a bigger role in the passing game.

The cost of attrition

underwood leaving got me to thinking. We recruit the kid, which cost something, but we'll ignore that. Anyway, he signs with us and comes here on a full scholarship, practices for a semester, then leaves.

From a football perspective it doesn't hurt too much, we have other QBs and will recruit more. My guess is he isn't the second coming of Cato or we would have heard a lot more about him by now. So no big deal.

However, this is where I have a rub with these guys who bolt. We paid for at least a semester of school, room, board, fees, books, plus a COA allowance. That's somewhere around $18,000-$20,000 and got absolutely nothing for it. For a broke program and athletic department it's not good to hand out free schooling and get nothing in return. His cost is the equivalent of 200 Big Green donors each giving $100 a year.

When you start thinking of all the guys who leave early without really contributing anything the cost gets kind of ridiculous.

Jeff Van Drew

Uh-oh.

I know, I know: (1) he's never supported impeachment; (2) it's not that big a deal; and/or [insert extra's or Raoul's other MSNBC-backed standard excuse here].

Except - except - the optics of this to the general public, those that don't closely follow politics, is fvcking terrible for the Dems. This thing is turning into a huge train wreck.

I hope I never have to live in California or New York

or anywhere else that has the collection of idiots in power like those two places.

Those douche nozzles would destroy the country if they could. Frankly, I would not piss on them if they were on fire. I have nothing in common with them and this is the biggest joke I have ever seen.

Sore losers and the real issue is they know they are going to get caught with their hands in the cookie jar and it will come out what a coup attempt this was.

Frankly, they should be thankful there is a Republican majority in the Senate because if they was not and Trump were removed they would be on the business end of removal and squashed like the vermin and cockroaches that they are. They are disgusting and repugnant filthy dung flies. One of these days the goods are going to come out on them and what they have done and how they betrayed the country. Filthy, inside the belt line scandalous maggots or rotten power. Tyrants to the core.

(WE) Marshall fans believe we should be contending with the top of the G5 right???

Well here is recruiting so far between Marshall and the upper teams of the G5.

Cincinnati - Currently ranked 51st with 16 verbals (two 4-stars, eleven 3-stars, zero unranked)
ECU - Currently ranked 53 with 22 verbals (one 4-star, eight 3-stars, two unranked)
UCF - Currently ranked 56th with 17 verbals (eleven 3-stars, zero unranked)
Boise - Currently ranked 72nd with 14 verbals (six 3-stars, zero unranked)
Memphis - Currently ranked 74th with 13 verbals (nine 3-stars, one unranked)

Marshall - Currently ranked 92nd with 16 verbals (two 3-stars, five unranked)

This is why we're getting our doors blown off by Cincy at home with their garbage time starting in the middle of the 3rd quarter. You can give me all the "well if you take the averages across all these other sites" or "we have to find the guys for our system" stuff all you want. That's all homeboarder, green kool-aide chugging postulation. I have facts. NCAA stat rankings, season W/L records, and championships to back up my side of the argument. Sure we have some good players. I'm inevitable going to get replies with the exception to the rule players we have, but they're not championship level good. They're not Top25 level good. If they are then we don't have enough of them or Doc and this staff should be walked directly after the bowl game because that tells me that are incapable of getting max production out of their personnel.

I am sure Doc will close good, but we're still a far cry from the early Doc years when we were finishing in the upper half of the G5 for recruits.
