Brad Smith gives $25 mill to COB

That is fantastic news! Looks like they are going to build a new business building. Wonder where they are going to put it?

Several months ago during a meeting with Dr. Gilbert and Ron area, they mentioned some plans about a new building for the business school on fourth Avenue between 15th and 16th. This might have been the catalyst they were waiting on to make that happen

That makes sense. I know a few years ago Marshall acquired several properties on the corner of 4th Avenue and 15th Street now owns that 1/4 of the block. They demolished several buildings and turned it into a parking lot so it is ready to be built on.

Congratulations to you all! What a generous gift that is going to significantly impact every business student that walks through the new building’s doors. These type of philanthropic acts transform what universities are able to do and the education they can provide. It’s always great to see successful graduates give back to their alma maters.

At one time MU was talking about buying, over time, the property on the west side of Hal Greer between 3rd and 4th Avenues to build a new academic and/or residential complex or some combination of both.

So I assume the college of business will have its own building while Corbly will continue with various courses and departments having classes there.
