Gun Control

The people that need to be regulated is the Gun Manufacturers but you and I both know that would ruffle the Military Industrial Complex feathers too much

Limiting the firing capacity of these guns, Banning the manufacturing of Magazines over 12 rounds. What does a civilian need with a 100 round drum? Limiting the firing distance on sniper rifles. Banning the manufacturing of Fully-Automatic Rifles and Handguns.

I saw this thing the other day about this new bullet that is a surgeon nightmare. Should we really be putting that type of ammunition in the hands of civilians and criminals

The real question is why dont people need those sort of things? When was the last time a person was murdered at 700 yds by a sniper rifle?

You want gun crime to stop you kill off street gangs (Literally) and start putting people back into Mental institutions or allow the NCIC background check have access to Hippa records.

The DC shooter, and Street gangs unfortunately will never go away. We are talking about some families and neighborhoods going on 3 generations now in gangs. And more and more young people think its cool to join a gang. Plus, most street gang members aren't registered Gun owners anyway. Most times they get their guns from other gang members, they steal them, illegal gun runners from Pro-Gun states, or its imported illegally

Yes. It is the illegal street guns that are the problem. Not John q public going into the gun store or gun show and trying to look cool with his semi auto 30 round mag. Those people are harmless.

from 2007 to 2011 (latest trend data from FBI) 323 murders were committed with a rifle. that includes those nasty "assault" style and their evil high capacity magazines. it also includes "sniper" rifles. in the same time frame 496 murders were committed using "blunt" objects.

banning hammers would lower murder rates more than banning high cap magazines and/or "sniper" rifles...

I'm a huge gun advocate, and I'm also a big proponent of gun control. I have no need of a fully automatic weapon, but don't tell me that I only get 12 rounds to defend my home, my wife, and myself. If there are multiple people breaking into my home, they each deserve multiple rounds put in their chest.

Taking away the ability of law abiding citizens to obtain something that is their right to own is just ridiculous and knee jerk.

See you are personalizing it, it's bigger then you. There is still no need to have 100 drums on the streets attached to full automatic rifles.

Doesn't really matter how many murders. The issue is why even allow the public to get that type of firepower in their hands??

No it does matter. Why ban something if it's not an issue? It's like banning forks because people are fat

So how many handguns have murdered people? But once against, the citizens or police doesn't need a 100 round drum. That gets into the wrong hands and your talking about a massacre

I love fully automatic but they are dangerous but if some hoodlums broke into my home to cause harm I would choose a automatic ak47..

How many rocks have killed people? How many knives how many swords. Ban all of them.

drum mags are notoriously unreliable. they have several parts that must work seamlessly to avoid a jam. they are also much harder to conceal. any criminal worth his salt would opt for a tactical vest with 4+ 30 round mags. even a novice can reload an AR in a few seconds.

the Colorado theater shooter used a 100 round drum and it "malfunctioned"...

AFTER he killed 12 people and injured 70.

The fact of the matter is if someone wants to kill a bunch of people, they can find one of a million ways to do it. Reducing magazine size, ammo type, or banning automatic weapons from being sold isn't going to stop a psychopath. It's just going to make them more creative.

I am a full supporter of the right to keep and bear arms. But we do have a gun violence problem in America. The problem is complex and the solution is multi-faceted. The NRA and it's supporters keep making "simple" arguments as a way to do nothing (like the Fork/Fat people, etc...). The NRA wants the gun industry to thrive, make no mistake about that. That is there end game.

1) Mental Health issues need more funding and visibility.
2) Gun availability is a problem in America. For every 100 people there are 88 guns. With that many floating around there are way too many guns and not enough responsible gun owners. Do something to get that number down.
3) Inner city gang violence makes up the vast majority of gun violence. Our economy is to blame for the increase, the unskilled "working poor" are trapped. We need jobs for the poor working class to make a decent living. Those jobs left, they need to return.

I've been making those arguments for weeks now. Good luck changing the back wood conservative mind

Give us the names of people in this country who want to take your guns.

I honestly think you would if you had your way.

I think Obama would. I think Pelosi would and Clinton if her served her politically.

I think there are many others that would love to see all guns go away.
