Final details announced for this deal. There are some things here that may be significant to the next CUSA deal.
- Six years (25 football season, 25-26 basketball season), $270M.
- CBS/CBSSN. 23 games, must carry 3 on CBS broadcast. No more than 5 Friday night games.
- CBS All-Access. 10 games.
- Boise State conference away games. (BSU gets more $$ than other teams)
- Fox/FS1/FS2. 16-23 games. Seven must be on Fox broadcast or FS1, rest can be on FS2. Championship game on Fox or FS1. No more than 5 Friday night games.
- Boise State home games.
- Hawaii will have four games in this deal, sell the rest PPV in Hawaii and on free internet on the mainland (LV casinos love the Hawaii games).
- Basketball Final game must be on CBS broadcast, rest on CBSSN. 32 regular season games on CBS/CBSSN, 2 must be on CBS.
- Ten games on CBSAA.
- 16-32 games on Fox networks, 12 must be on Fox or FS1, rest on FS2.
- This is the last contract where Boise State will be treated differently from other schools. In the next contract, assuming Boise State is still in the league, it will be just another member.
- 19 remaining football games and all the rest of the basketball games will be sold to a “third tier” deal, probably Stadium or Pluto.

Comments:
- Boise State has been the ESPN pet, along with UCF. We all know what being in a league with no ESPN relationship does. Congratulations.
- Good money. While CUSA won’t get that level of $$, we should not expect doom and gloom either.
- CBSAA, which the that pay channel that has the new goofy Star Trek show is going to have 10 football games and 10 basketball games. It is adding Eurosoccer as well. First sports on that service. Would not be surprised to see the Facebook portion of the CUSA schedule move behind that paywall in the next deal.
- 10 Friday night games. Whew.
- Good move getting commitments to be on broadcast TV a little.
- The MWC, and Boise State, now become in the position that CUSA/MU were in for so long. On the outs with ESPN. Boise State’s only non-conference away game is with us, and that means they will not appear on ESPN at all next year.
- Boise State agreeing, for what its worth, that this is the last contract where it will be treated differently, means that it thinks it can get into a better slot in the next realignment. The reason it got its special deal is the first place was it threatened to join the AAC. Look for it to join the AAC if the AAC survives the next realignment.
- UNLV, which will be playing in the Raiders’ new stadium, is poised for a huge breakout.
