First: Marshall softball is No. 23 in the coaches poll and No. 25 in the ESPN Poll this week. They'll play at home for the first time as a nationally ranked team Friday at 2 against UAB, then a doubleheader Saturday scheduled to start at 1.
They deserve the biggest crowds in school history, and I say that knowing Friday afternoon is difficult. But regardless, you should try to make it out if you can. They've had an incredible season and they deserve all the support they can receive.
And we have until May 9 to keep voting for Morgan Zerkle. She had the lead late last week but has now fallen a couple of percentage points behind a girl from Auburn. Zerkle is second in the nation in batting average... an all-time great... and she's from Milton.
