That was certain to occur, with the closing of the TITM forum. Despite what's written policy, WVU fans cannot stay away. As @The Real SamC has stated multiple times over multiple years, they must flock here during their distraught times. Lose a sporting event to Anybody U . . ., here they come. . . but Marshall. Lose a coach to a G5 program . . . but Marshall. This is a sickness that has reared its ugly head for the last 22 years. It's not going away. It will never go away. It can't go away, because the Herd is their benchmark for proviing their validity in the sports world, despite the fact that they're 0 & World all time in any major sports championship.

Unfortunately, TITM was one of the, if not the best smack board in the history of the internet. It was closed, due to a previous board owner having a master plan to do so. The blame was leveled elsewhere, but make no mistake about it. TITM was going away, and away it now resides.

I asked multiple times to have it restored, but my effort has fallen on deaf ears. Hopefully, one of these days it will return. If and when that day ever returns, TITM will be rocking, and this board will be a prominent 'net location for many fans around the country.

STILL SCRATCHING my head on Doc's (1st head coached game) to punt on WVU's 37 yard line when The HERD had VICTORY in hand....pick up a few inches and run out the clock......

I invited a VA cardio doctor & his wife (from Parkersburg via WVU & Duke Medical) that helped perform 5-bypass heart surgery on me in 2010....NOT a word was HERD from them for 3 & 1/2 quarters of play......WVU pull out the rabbit's foot and earned an apparent win....Anne said to me..."Dang Sweeney, not a peep and now--- they are calling all their WVU buddies across America." Moral of story......"Be selective who you invite to a Marshall game!"

-It’s the off-season and both schools basketball programs are having rough seasons, so there isn’t a ton to talk about.

-A few of your fans, like The Real SamC are so consumed by jealousy of the state’s flagship university, they constantly take a jab at WVU or start a thread about the Mountaineers here. Do you expect there to be no replies from WVU fans?

-The board traffic would be significantly reduced if those who run the site would ban all opposing fans. The banter most of the time isn’t too over the top or out of hand, so I’m not sure what your big problem is.

-If you want a Marshall fans-only environment, get out your wallet and subscribe to the premium board here. I contribute monetarily to the Rivals Network and have for years and I enjoy visiting other schools’ sites to discuss college sports with opposing fans. It’s kind of humorous that you contribute nothing to the success of this site, but are throwing orders at the site moderators.

-Also, I like following Marshall in addition to being a big-time WVU fan and alumnus. I’ve been visiting this site for years and enjoy getting updates here.

I have no problem with the good natured ribbing and tit-for-tat.It is the constant "We beat you in football and basketball, we are the flagship, we are superior."

In the location where I once worked, almost everyone except me was a Morgantown School fan. Their vision of the real world was so distorted. After a Morgantown victory, I would get notes left on my door and smarta** comments made in the hallways.

I usually just smiled because I knew that because of my education and experience, I was pulling down $15-$20 grand more than any of them. You would think because Marshall lost twelve football games to them they would make more.

The last I noticed the Marshall basketball was 2-0 in conference play and have a serious chance of repeating as CUSA champs. Just because you have a miserable team this year, don't put us in that bucket. It may be off season to you but not us!

I was basing my comment on the overall record of MU’s basketball team. I’m glad that they’ve had a very good start in C-USA and earned an impressive win over a talented WKU team.

Where did I say it's acceptable? Gee made comments and paid for them. Lost his job at Ohio State. But to take 2 comments made in the past and comment that Gee is racist and probably would consider skin color for acceptable students at WVU is laughable.

Gee has also made jokes about his own religion. He must hate Mormons.
