T Boone gave Okie state over $650 million, just not in one gift
OSU remembers T. Boone Pickens, 1928-2019 - Oklahoma State University
Thousands of Cowboy faithful flooded Gallagher-Iba Arena Wednesday to celebrate the life of Oklahoma State University legend T. Boone Pickens.news.okstate.edu
Hasn't worked out for OSU in football...
According to MU's fanbase...not enough. One conference title under their current HC.Yearly records before Pickens' first major athletic donation:
0-10, 4-6, 3-8, 3-7, 4-8, 5-6, 8-4, 5-6, 5-6, 3-8, 4-7, 8-5, 9-4, 7-5, 4-7.
Yearly records after Pickens' major athletic donations:
7-6, 7-6, 9-4, 9-4, 11-2, 12-1, 8-5, 10-3, 7-6, 10-3, 10-3, 10-3, 7-6, 8-5, 8-3.
In the 15 years before the major gifts started, OSU had four winning seasons.
In the 15 years since the first major gift, OSU has had 15 winning seasons.
In the 15 years before the major gifts started, OSU finished in the AP top 25 once.
In the 15 years after the major gifts started, OSU has finished in the AP top 25 eight times.
The money clearly has worked out for OSU in football.
$50 million of it is actually going to the AD.Nice gift. Too bad it had to be wasted on Western Michigan.
Oklahoma State is competing against programs that have as much or more advantages than they have. For all of T Boone's money, it still doesn't put OSU on the same level as Oklahoma, Texas, and possibly Baylor when it comes to everything.According to MU's fanbase...not enough. One conference title under their current HC.
You're making absolutely no sense. His 1982 donation was $1 million. That, even then, wasn't enough to move the barometer on competing with the biggest programs. Oh, and one more thing: that $1 million was to pay for 25% of building a geology building. It had absolutely nothing to do with athletics. So claiming that his donation to help build a geology building should have resulted in more football wins is absurdly stupid.According to MU's fanbase...not enough. One conference title under their current HC.
Since 1982 when his first donation was given they've won it exactly that, one time in 2011 I believe.
I wonder if they will fund a law school.
Lots of money floating around the Kalamazoo area these days, with much more on the way, due to Covid-19.
That's a great bet to make. I thought I had mentioned that before on these forums though.I bet the economy is pumping since all of the coeds allegedly stay there 365 days per year due to the great nightlife.
It’s time you take one for the team.Jeff Bezos' wife just donated $40 million with no restrictions to FIU:
