I think the biggest excuse is that your parents just really didn’t value education. Your mom may have graduated high school, but like you, your father never did.
Heck, I’ll concede that’s not even an excuse, it’s a bonafide reason for you being the way you are, arrogant out of ignorance. It doesn’t explain why you are such a bitter and miserable person though. Maybe your dad was also an alcoholic that was abusive and that gave you that personality. It’s the personality of a person that views themselves as inferior so they go down a path of trying to tear down everyone around them to try and level the field. You know you can’t rise, so it’s your coping mechanism.
