Here is my take on Energy. Green energy is the future. And I said the future, the technology presently is no where near where it needs to be to take the place of fossil fuels. That will take a big jump from the present technology, and we have no idea when some really smart person will hit on the big leap. You cannot legislate that jump as CA (and others) are trying to do. IMHO, it should be for now all in, Solar, Wind, Nuclear, Oil, Natural gas and coal. With coal being the one that is phased out the soonest as tech advances.
Personal opinion on electric cars, I will not buy one until such time I can drive a whole days trip without having to stop and recharge , which is about twice the amount they do now. Tesla says 400 miles and that depends on how you drive, for me would be 10-20 % less so probably 360ish when new. If I could get one that could do 700 to 750 between charges would think about it. I do a lot of road trips 10 hours at 70 mph will get me a days trip. Not interested in stopping somewhere and spending 4 hours charging a battery and paying about 70% of what a tank of gas costs.
