Trucks, Thongs, & One-Year Olds

1) What is the reason why so many people who don't need pickup trucks spend as much as they do to drive one? They don't work on farms. They aren't in construction. They don't have to haul all of the equipment for their son's little league team. They aren't towing a horse trailer. So what is the draw of them other than an expression of "manhood" (translated to small pecker), redneckedness, and Trumper?

A second part of that question: Why is there such a disproportionately high percentage of pickup drivers who are hillbilly assholes? They have the highest share of drivers who drive like assholes, purposely make loud noises with their vehicles, and are basically the scum of drivers.

2) Thongs. I love them. No problem here. But why are 25-45 year old women wearing them to neighborhood pools that are mostly full of young kids? Listen, I appreciate the more skin shown from females. It makes my crippled cardio easier since those women distract me during my workout and make it less boring. But it is beyond tacky at a neighborhood pool full of children. I'm not saying you need to wear a burkini or even a one-piece, but come on. Have a little awareness.

And why are women at the neighborhood pools when they have their own pool in their backyard? I know some of these women. They have not just regular pools, but really fvcking nice pools in their backyard with attached hot tubs, waterfall, beautiful views, and nobody but their family. Why are you at a neighborhood pool?

3) One-year olds. They don't remember shit when they're older. You can give them a piece of coal for their birthday, and they won't know the difference when they're older. So why are these fvcking parents spending thousands of dollars to throw them parties for their first birthday? I understand wedding showers, baby showers, parties for children who are a bit older. But one-year olds?

I walked past two parties this morning that easily had thousands of dollars invested for a one-year old's birthday. They have to rent these amenity spaces to be able to have exclusive use/parties there. The first had a large, professionally custom made display that read "Ava is One!" They had rented cocktail tables so people could stand around them and put their food/drinks. They have nice tablecloths on each with decorations. They had professionally made balloon displays. They had an inflatable white picture location, which at first I thought was a small bouncehouse but was really just something a family could gather inside of for picture opportunities. They had catering. They had a million gift bags. The truck from the vendor for all of this stuff sat there with two young guys inside.
The second party is basically across the street from my place and had much of the same - a custom made display announcing the child's first birthday party, tablecloths, fresh flowers spread all over the tables, catering, and other decorations.

Your one-year old would have much more fun doing something else on his/her birthday and would appreciate you putting those thousands in an investment account for him/her to use when they get older.
Why? What is the purpose? Your one-year old child gets no fun from it. He/she won't remember it. He/she won't get any developmental impact from it. You're spending thousands of dollars to make yourself feel like you do a lot for your child and to showcase everything for your friends/family. It's a waste of time and money. He/she doesn't care about the beautiful setting, the fancy chandeliers/lanterns that hang from the big tree branches, the water features, the outdoor kitchen/refrigerators/grills, the flowers, etc.

Even during pride month

There's no excuse for greed openly supporting a grown man showering naked with his daughter.

I've seen many unbelievable posts on this forum, but stuff like that should not be tolerated.

greed, have some pride during pride month and denounce this sinful behavior.

If you can't do that, then you're nothing more than a fraudulent, God hating Satan worshiper.

Marshall Football Create - A - Team

With the upcoming release of EA Sports NCAA Football, I figured this was a good time to get some feedback.

Build your own All-Time Marshall team (by position) and post it on here.

I'll be creating an All-Time Marshall team once the game is released and I'm interested in who you'd add.

For example:

QB - Chad Pennington

RB - Ahmad Bradshaw

RB - Chris Parker

WR: Randy Moss

and so, and so forth.

Commercialization coming in 2025...

NCAA rules committee is meeting next week to discuss allowing universities to put corporate logos on fields, jerseys, equipment, etc... Almost certain to pass given the revenue sharing model that is one the way.

Let's get ready to cheer on the "Marshall University Thundering Herd presented by Intuit and Nike at Joan C. Edwards Stadium by CSX and James F. Edwards Field brought to you by Kroger." (I'm being facetious, I could care less if the jerseys, field, etc have logos on them).

SOCCER MSOC '24 Spring League

With the Spring Season officially kicking off against Rio Grande today at 4PM, I thought I would start up a new thread for us soccer junkies to go nuts in.. give those who might not follow as much a break from the notifications.

Not a whole lot to keep an eye on IMO. I'm pretty sure most of the new guys won't be on campus until June. Will be interesting though to see if Souza is there today and who we got as keeper - although I do not think Rose is here yet.

SCOTUS

The Supreme Court used to be a sacred group: mostly off-limits for political attacks, no shenanigans, a certain decorum and class . . .

You deplorables have also ruined that both by the nomination process and the actions of the justices. Are we just going to hope that the Alito and Thomas situations are going to disappear and shouldn't impact their positions?

House subpoenas 15 Pedo-Joe Cabinet secretaries to hand over documents on voter mobilization 'scheme': Paper Trail

Let the cheating begin!

LINK: A House committee is issuing subpoenas to 15 executive agencies in the pedo administration related to constitutional concerns with one of Pedo-Joe’s executive orders and the departments' implementation.

In March 2021, Pedo-Joe signed Promoting Access to Voting, which states that "executive departments and agencies should partner with State, local, Tribal, and territorial election officials to protect and promote the exercise of the right to vote, eliminate discrimination and other barriers to voting, and expand access to voter registration and accurate election information."

The plan has already come under scrutiny from Senate Republicans, who have called it a federal "voter mobilization" effort with "potentially partisan impacts."

Rep. Bryan Steil, R-Wis., chairman of the Committee on House Administration, is subpoenaing Pedo-Joe’s 15 cabinet secretaries for their detailed plans for carrying out the order just five months out from the November election.

"The Committee has concerns about the implementation of E.O. 14019, particularly regarding its compatibility with provisions of the National Voter Registration Act (NRA) of 1993," Steil told the agencies in a subpoena letter.

"Congress delegates to federal agencies specific functions and missions, which by law they are required to follow. Congress's delegation of authority to HUD does not include using funds and resources to provide Americans with voter registration materials," he said.

"Moreover, E.O. 14019 requires every federal agency to submit a strategic plan outlining how the agency can promote voter registration and voter participation.

"Over the last few months, some agencies have taken actions that were likely outlined in their strategic plans. Examples include the Department of Education's new federal work-study requirements, and the Small Business Administration's entrance into a voter registration agreement with Michigan," Steil explained.

"Both of those actions and the actions of other agencies raise substantial questions and concerns, some of which may be answered by access to the strategic plans drafted by the agencies."

Steil added that the committee is considering legislation that would repeal E.O. 14019 and require the agencies' strategic plan to be submitted to Congress.

"As the Committee continues to investigate this issue, the strategic plans and other documents requested will inform the Committee on what additional legislation, if any, needs to be considered to clarify that the NRA does not enable executive branch agencies to focus on voter registration," he wrote.

Included in the subpoena list are the Department of Commerce, Homeland Security, Department of Defense, Justice Department, Department of Education, Department of Energy, Health and Human Services, Housing and Urban Development, Department of Interior, Department of Labor, Office of Management and Budget, Department of State, Department of Transportation, Treasury Department and the Department of Agriculture.

In a statement to Fox News Digital, Steil called the executive order a "scheme" to carry out "partisan activities" for which Congress did not appropriate funds.

"Elections are partisan, but our election administration should never be partisan. Allowing federal employees from the pedo administration to flood election administration sites threatens election integrity and reduces Americans’ confidence," Steil said.

"This executive order is another attempt by the pedo administration to tilt the scales ahead of 2024. I will continue working to provide transparency and accountability on this administration’s latest scheme as Congress did not appropriate taxpayer funds for partisan activities."

In November, top Republican senators pushed the pedo administration for answers about its "voter mobilization" efforts and said they were stonewalled by the White House for months.

Sen. Bill Hagerty, R-Tenn., sent a letter with 23 senators, co-signed by top leadership, including Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., admonishing Pedo-Joe for his administration’s "failure to respond" to their inquires about the executive order on Promoting Access to Voting.

"This policy directive merits congressional oversight both as a general matter and under the Antideficiency Act," the lawmakers wrote, reiterating their request for how federal agencies planned to carry out the executive order, including a request for copies of their plans submitted to the White House.

In April, a lawsuit challenging the executive order alleged it targeted key demographics to benefit the president’s political party and his own re-election.

Tarren Bragdon, president and CEO of the Foundation for Government Accountability, which filed an amicus brief in a case now pending before the Supreme Court, said "it’s no wonder Team Pedo is using their authority and resources to target welfare populations with a federally funded get-out-the-vote effort.

"If they are allowed to fully execute their plan, it could swing the election outcome."
