Regarding the rumors yesterday that Huff was resigning. No comment from Spears and no apology from Huff. Oh well guess Marshall just figured no need to address a rumor.

Zero comments = no leadership.

If they are really going to do the right thing, then do it. Fire CH and let the lawyers figure out the terms.

If they are not, well there are recruits and portal dwellers (going and coming) that are making decisions. Not the mention the entire community (not just Marshall fans, the ENTIRE state) rightly insulted by these disgusting comments. So you do a press release that again says its unacceptable and then accept it, just like you did with 6-6, and you have CH make some non-apology apology "If you were offended by my comments...."

But, neither.

No leadership.

Pete Rose once said there are two kinds of GMs in baseball. One knows how to build a winning team, and one knows how to make sure the beer kegs are full, there are enough hot dog wrappers, and the uniforms get washed.
It seems CS is the second type. He is a business manager, not a leader.

Fire Charles Huff.

Can you explain why fans would be insulted over the coach saying we don’t have much NIL money and that the fans hated a transferring player that they mercilessly booed and ridiculed on numerous online forums?

I’m gonna side with Rifle on this. Is huff really that wrong?? Go back on the boards a few weeks and everyone was calling for Cam to sit…A LOT. I know the boards don’t speak for the community as a whole… but people were hard on Huff and wanted a new QB. We put Cole in… he didn’t cut it. We were able to put Cam back in the last game and he smashed it. Now, Huff looks like the bad one.

Was it bad taste to say that, probably … but it’s all true.

Rifle is correct regarding Huff's post.
Are y'all unhappy with what Huff said?
Was it wrong?

Just because Huff has underwhelmed as a HFC doesn't mean that he's an idiot.

Huff used the words "and the fans Hate him" Where does that say that fans were calling for him to be sat down and replaced by Pennington. Think about that, "the fans" is all inclusive, indicating "everyone". And then he says "him", not his results, his play, nothing indicating what fans really don't like.

He messed up big time. The whole issue is that Cam decided to leave because the pot of gold at MU wasn't big enough, so his head coach took shots at both the donors of NIL money and the fan base as a whole. He was probably very disheartened and disappointed that Cam was leaving as he has invested very heavily in him.

Trying to defend him is a bit ridiculous IMHO. Saying he may have reasons for his feelings is one thing, defending his comments is another. Should it be only a learning experience for Huff; that depends on his next steps, which to this point have apparently been NONE. He could have stopped the train before it got toooo far out of the station. Instead his silence is defending his original comments and he ends up getting what folkks decide to cast on him.

Exactly, if he feels that way, fine, but you take that up internally. You don't broadcast something like this, making the entire university look bad. His actions have potentially impacted all other sports programs at Marshall.

This whole mess makes him look like childish, taking jabs at his own employer and fanbase out of frustration.

Hate is a strong word. No one hates the young man, that's absurd. You have a handful of internet bad asses saying crap. Those that make the noise sadly give the whole fan base a bad name. Huff's comment was a knee jerk reaction to a question and very stupid for saying it, even if he truly believed, which I doubt he does. He needed to take a breath and think before speaking.

Me too. What a couple days. We survived BANDGATE 2023! Now HUFFGATE lol
Well played on the BANDGATE.
When I heard they were not going I was like, well if they would put out a quality sound and not sound like a 6th grade band then maybe the school would bend over backwards to make sure they are there…
